St. James Easter Pot-Luck Breakfast
This year, our Easter Breakfast will be held at 9:00am on Sunday, April 4. It will be a pot-luck style breakfast. We will need breakfast foods and volunteers to set up and clean up. We have created an online sign up for you to sign up to volunteer or bring food. Please CLICK HERE to access the online sign up.

Spring Forward!
Don't forget that Daylight Saving Time begins THIS SUNDAY! Set your clocks forward one hour on Saturday night!

Adult Forum
Each Sunday in Lent (February 28 - March 28) join us for The New Apostolic Church where we will learn more about the new models of “being” the Body of Christ in today’s world. We will learn from the most current thinkers and writers who see the church emerging to reclaim the essence of church of the first Apostolic age, and be Christ’s missionary outpost here and now. Father Scott will facilitate this provocative topic.

Youth Group
TODAY: FUSE (see below). NEXT Sunday, March 21, there will be a youth Wii party at St. James from 3:30pm - 5:30pm. Bring a snack or drink to share (Daniel and AnnKelso Hewitt are the chaperons).

FUSE
All area middle and high school students are invited to a free, amazingly thrilling afternoon! There will be games, free food, and music. Join us Sunday, March 14, 2pm - 6pm on the Montreat Campus, Black Mountain (In the Oaks at the end of Vance Avenue). For more information and to register, please call Aric at Montreat Presbyterian Church 669-7577 ext 206.

Community Lenten Services
Each Wednesday during Lent (Feb. 17 - April 4) at noon, the Ministerial Association of Black Mountain / Swannanoa will host an intergenerational worship service. Hear a brief Lenten sermon, listen to special music by singers from local congregations, and enjoy a lunch of homemade soup and sandwiches. This Wednesday, March 17, the service will be held at Mills Chapel Baptist Church.

Lenten Potluck Series
Continuing tonight, we are hosting a Lenten potluck series in the Parish Hall each Sunday in Lent (Feb. 21—March 21). This year’s topic is “Walking in the Pilgrim’s Way”. Fr. Scott and Rose Wilkerson will share resources and experiences of the Christian Spiritual Tradition, including: spiritual maturity, creation spirituality, Celtic traditions and dreams as resources for spiritual growth. Each evening begins with Evening Prayer at 5:15, followed by a potluck supper of soup and salad, and a study session. Please bring soup or salad to share.

Easter Lilies
Altar Flowers resume Easter Day (April 4) with Easter Lilies. Contact Kelly in the church office (669.2754) to donate an Easter Lily for the Easter service in thanksgiving or in memory of someone. A list of donors is printed in the Easter bulletin. Each lily plant is $10.

Sunday Morning Quilt
All children are welcome in our worship services. The 10:30am Sunday Morning Quilt is an important way for the children of the church to learn to cherish the awe and wonder that happens here and take it back into their lives. If your child would like to sit on the quilt at the front of the church, please help them remember to use whisper voices and stay seated on the quilt until the Passing of the Peace.

Repairing the Breach
This program is a deeply spiritual, 18 month long “truth and reconciliation” pilgrimage in and for our diocese, designed to help us repair the deep and painful breaches which have been caused by our long history of slavery, segregation and discrimination. This pilgrimage is being taken by Episcopalians all over the country, in response to a Resolution from the General Convention. The process begins with two identical training events (one at St. James, Black Mountain for the eastern half of the Diocese, March 13; and one at St. Andrews, Canton for the western half, March 20). Dain and Constance Perry from Massachusetts will be here to help us begin this important and challenging work. Each parish is being invited to send a “team” consisting of at least one clergy member and 2-3 “parish partners”. For more information, contact the Diocese of WNC: 225-6657.
